Peter Wise was born and raised in San Pedro, California. The second of five children, he entertained his brothers and sisters with stories and songs from an early age. He later attended college at U. C. Santa Cruz, where he became a fixture as a musician, songwriter, and storyteller at local venues. Having written three novels, including the cliffjumping saga One Jump Ahead, he started the punk/new wave band the Tyros, playing in concerts and venues throughout the state. He then opened a music store in Salinas, California, becoming an integral part of the local music scene and touring the country with Nashville songster Bobby Pinson. Suddenly struck with a serious illness in 2023, he collapsed on stage one night and was rushed to a local hospital. Partially recovering, he moved to Fort Worth, Texas with his wife Aida, where he sadly succumbed to his illness in 2024.
